How Provisionr Helps

Provisionr automatically adds and removes users from GitLab Groups via the GitLab API. Each policy specifies the permission level users are provisioned with: Owner, Maintainer, Developer, Reporter, Planner, or Guest.

The Problem We Solve

Organizations with 100+ users struggle to manage GitLab access:
  • Determining which groups and projects each role needs access to
  • Assigning the right permission level for each user
  • Keeping memberships current as teams and roles change

What to Expect

With Provisionr managing your GitLab Groups:
  • Developers get access to the right repositories on Day 1 with appropriate permission levels
  • Team-based groups stay in sync with your organizational structure
  • You can create user management groups that are invited to code groups/projects, separating membership automation from permission inheritance
  • Role changes automatically update GitLab access across all managed groups
Provisionr manages group membership and the permission level for users added directly to groups. For groups invited to other groups or projects, you manage inherited access levels in GitLab UI, API, or Terraform.
